Hello! I'm Drew Maks. (he/him)

I’m a designer, artist, and game master based in Portland, Oregon, originally from the suburbs of Philadelphia. I bring over a decade of experience in graphic design, branding, and marketing, with a background that spans commercial real estate, healthcare, and e-commerce.

My foundation in fine art, philosophy, and theater informs how I approach design: strategically, creatively, and with an emphasis on communication. I work well in fast-paced, collaborative environments and have a track record of delivering consistent, high-quality results under pressure.

Outside of work, I’m a lifelong fan of science fiction and fantasy. I grew up watching Star Trek with my parents and borrowing my dad’s Star Wars VHS tapes. A family friend introduced me to Tolkien before I was old enough to read him, and when The Fellowship of the Ring premiered in IMAX, I was hooked. Years later, after moving to Portland, I found my way into tabletop RPGs and rediscovered the joy of collaborative storytelling.

Now I run a weekly high-level Dungeons & Dragons game and explore other systems like Blades in the Dark, Mörk Borg, Mothership, and Call of Cthulhu. These games are an ongoing creative outlet, blending writing, performance, worldbuilding, and design in a way that’s deeply rewarding and a lot of fun.

Whether I’m designing for clients or crafting a story at the table, I bring the same thoughtful, adaptive, and curious approach to the work. I enjoy solving problems, building systems, and creating things that resonate.
